The latest offerings from Lamb of God and Heriot have been echoing in my mind,but it’s Sylosis that truly stands out for me – arguably the most reliable ‘classic’ thrash band in the metal scene. Since departing from Architects, Josh Middleton has infused fresh energy into his main project, and The New Flesh is a relentless track that appeals to all metal fans.
Shifting gears to a different flavor of heavy, Kiesel’s eight-string virtuoso Ando San has sculpted his distinctive blend of progressive rock and hip-hop (dubbed prog-hop) into a masterpiece. His track, Thick Neck, combines powerful lyrical delivery with grinding riffs, reminiscent of a collaboration between kendrick Lamar and Deftones. This innovative approach sneaks intricate guitar work into a sound that’s accessible to mainstream audiences, making Ando San a standout artist in our eyes.

Lastly, Des Rocs has taken the electric guitar to new heights with his latest explosive track, which perfectly blends the styles of Aerosmith and The Cult.You could call it an “Aerocult” or perhaps a “Cultsmith.” Irrespective, the Juice stands out as an exemplary driving rock anthem for 2025. With snaking pentatonic riffs and a chorus that embeds itself in your mind, the song’s gritty tones are undeniably captivating. Des Rocs embodies the essence of a rockstar, and tracks like this showcase exactly why.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based band Prostitute delivers a blistering mix of post-punk energy, channeling a METZ-like wall of sound infused with customary Arabic melodies and instruments. Their recent performance in liverpool left me in awe – a relentless barrage of high-volume drums, samples, and heavy distortion that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, culminating in a fervent chant for more. Notably, they chose not to indulge in an encore, which I found commendable.
All Hail is a standout track from their 2024 album Attempted Martyr, which has recently been released on Mute in the UK, making it a timely mention.
As the nights grow longer, I find myself gravitating towards shoegaze music. Perhaps it’s a nostalgic reminder of my days commuting into central london, immersed in the ethereal sounds of the Cocteau Twins while working at Virgin Records.

Welcome to this month’s music highlights, where we explore the latest and greatest tracks that have made waves in the industry. November may have been a quieter month compared to the bustling fall, but there’s still a treasure trove of new sounds to discover.
Exciting Collaborations in Music
One of the standout collaborations this month comes from Neural DSP, which has brought together the incredible talents of Mark Lettieri and Justus West for their track Top Down Suits.Although it’s not yet available on streaming platforms, this collaboration is a delightful surprise that showcases their complementary playing styles. The track has a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of a classic buddy cop movie theme from the ’90s, complete with an infectious funk hook that’s hard to shake off. West’s bebop-inspired led has quickly made its way onto my list of solos to master, while Lettieri continues to impress with his versatility as both a rhythm guitarist and a dazzling soloist.
In addition to this collaboration, Mateus Asato, a prominent artist associated with Neural DSP, is preparing to release his much-anticipated debut solo album. This project has allowed him to revisit some of his earlier demos, including a piece he shared six years ago titled “the breakup song [idea].” The final version of this track is nothing short of mesmerizing, featuring smooth runs, captivating tones, and classic Asato chord melodies. It’s a must-listen for any guitar aficionado.
Another track worth your attention is monty by Novo Amor and Yvette Young. Although it technically dropped late last month, it deserves a spotlight for its brilliant production and captivating guitar hooks that perfectly complement the chopped vocals. This track exemplifies the best of modern indie pop, showcasing a masterclass in bedroom production techniques.
Additionally, Kings of Leon has released a new EP that fans shoudl definitely check out. While the entire project is worth a listen, I recommend starting with The Wolf.This track evokes the vibes of their iconic album Only by the Night, which happens to be my personal favorite from the band.

On a different note, Rosalía’s latest album, Lux, has been on repeat for me and has firmly secured its place as my top album of the year. The record has garnered notable attention for its classical influences, especially due to her collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra, and is already being hailed as a groundbreaking work in the avant-garde pop genre.
However, one track that truly stands out is La Rumba del Perdón, which showcases Rosalía’s flamenco roots.Collaborating with guitarists Joselito Acedo and Oscar Lagos,this vibrant piece celebrates the rich heritage of Spain’s national art form,introducing it to a new generation of listeners.
