Though, the pedal’s dark gray finish and small font can make it challenging to read the controls from a distance, notably in dimly lit environments. using it on a dark stage could pose additional difficulties.

Out of the box, you can select from six amp voices using the top rotary dial. Thes include Clean Warm, Clean Luminous, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD1, and OD2. A secondary select button allows you to choose between Amps 1, Amps 2, and Acoustic/Bass options.
In total, these controls provide access to 18 Blackstar-style amps, ranging from the St. james 6L6 and Artisan 30 to the Ampton Plexi and series One 100.
Additionally,there’s a button for selecting tube response types-EL84,EL34,and 6L6-covering a variety of Marshall and Fender-style valve responses.this feature opens up even more tonal possibilities with just a few simple adjustments,making it ideal for those seeking a hands-on tone-shaping experience.

Below these controls,you’ll find buttons for activating effects,along with two smaller dials for selecting the effect type and adjusting various parameters.

Regarding the footswitches, I found them to be somewhat lacking in sturdiness. While I appreciate a gentle touch, these switches felt so soft that they were nearly unnoticeable. This is largely due to the small size of the switch tips; a more considerable design would have been preferable.
Additionally,while the physical controls are straightforward to use,navigating between patches can be cumbersome due to the minuscule size of the display. The screen is so compact that it can become tedious to read, cramming too much information into a small space. A larger display would significantly enhance usability.
That said, the screen is not the core of the ID:X Floor One’s functionality, and it does not heavily depend on it for sound quality. The primary goal here is to provide speedy,user-pleasant access to excellent guitar tones. So, does it succeed?
