Community Rally Needed: Four Custom Fender Strats Stolen from Pasadena Guitar shop
A guitar shop in California is reaching out for assistance after the theft of four prized Fender Custom Shop guitars from it’s Pasadena location. Wild West Guitars is urging local music lovers to help recover these valuable instruments.
In a recent post on their Instagram account, the store shared CCTV footage showing the moment the guitars were taken. The thieves made a swift escape in a getaway vehicle, leaving the store staff in shock.
“On June 5 at 4:18 PM, two suspects stole four Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters while a third individual waited in a getaway car,” the store reported.
According to the footage, the thieves fled in a gray Chrysler 200,which has a noticeable dent on the rear passenger door and near the taillight. The store hopes that sharing these details will aid in their recovery efforts.
Wild west guitars has enhanced the low-resolution CCTV images using AI technology, providing clearer visuals of the suspects. One of the individuals was spotted wearing a Pearl Jam t-shirt, which may help identify them.
“We are counting on our community’s support,” the store emphasized, highlighting the importance of local involvement in recovering the stolen guitars.
Among the stolen instruments are two 1960 hardtail stratocasters, featuring Madagascar rosewood fingerboards and heavy relic finishes in striking Fiesta Red and Black. These guitars were specially crafted to commemorate the store’s 25th anniversary.
The other two stolen guitars include a Fat ’50s Stratocaster Relic in a rich Chocolate finish and a 1962 model equipped with hand-wound pickups and a AAA dark rosewood slab fingerboard, finished in a stunning lake Placid Blue. The unique relic finishes may aid in their identification.

While incidents of guitar theft are regrettably prevalent, there are instances where stolen instruments are recovered. such as, in April, law enforcement apprehended a suspect linked to a crime ring targeting Guitar Center locations nationwide.
Just last month, California police successfully retrieved $60,000 worth of stolen guitars, all of which still bore their original price tags. The hope is that a similar outcome can be achieved in this case.
