Introducing the Astryx: Dany Villarreal’s Signature PRS guitar
PRS has teamed up with Dany Villarreal of The Warning too unveil her inaugural signature guitar, the Astryx. This remarkable instrument is a limited-edition version of the custom 24,featuring a striking finish and custom inlays that replace the customary Bird markers typically found on PRS guitars.
The Rise of the Warning
Hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, The Warning is a dynamic power trio made up of three sisters who have rapidly gained recognition as one of the moast exciting new rock bands. Their innovative use of alternate tunings has played a significant role in their ascent within the music scene.
A Timely release
with the launch of their fifth album, Everything’s Falling, set for August 28, the debut of the Astryx could not be more perfectly timed. Dany Villarreal has long relied on PRS guitars, including the SE Mark Holcomb SVN, but this new model represents a deeply personal evolution in her musical journey.
Distinctive Features of the Astryx
The Astryx boasts a breathtaking color fade finish that captivates the eye.Unique Solecito (little sun) dot inlays adorn the fretboard, complemented by a prominent sun logo at the 12th fret, celebrating Villarreal’s Mexican roots. Additionally, her signature is etched on the truss rod wheel, and each of the limited 200 guitars will come with an autographed backplate.
Classic PRS Craftsmanship
Despite its unique aesthetics, the Astryx retains the classic Custom 24 specifications. It features a mahogany body topped with maple, a 25″ scale length, and a Pattern Thin neck. The hardware includes a reliable PRS Patented Gen III Tremolo system, along with a pair of PRS’s DMO (Dynamic, Music, Open) humbuckers, which were first introduced at NAMM 2025 and are now a staple in the PRS Core lineup.

Designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team,the pickups were developed after thorough research into sought-after vintage models and advancements in signal analysis. They are engineered to deliver a wide-open tonal quality, characterized by clear note definition and a vocal-like resonance.
