# UK Musician Plays Acoustic Guitar During 8-Hour Brain Surgery

A recent musical miracle took place in the UK when musician Colin Miller underwent a brain tumor operation. While undergoing an eight-hour brain surgery to remove a golf ball-sized tumor, Miller decided to remain awake and play his acoustic guitar.

## An Unusual Decision

Most patients would choose to be sedated during such an invasive procedure, but Miller opted to remain awake to prevent losing mobility in his hand and fingers, a choice that ultimately allowed him to play tunes on his guitar during the surgery.

Colin wasn’t there strumming his guitar to a Green Day song, but despite the unusual circumstances, playing different tunes on his guitar was a fascinating experience for him.

## A Remarkable Recovery

He has also taken part in Brain Tumour Research’s 99 Miles in November challenge to raise money for the organization. His fundraising efforts have far exceeded his target, having raised 684% of his original goal.

“I had to give up my driving license, but I can still move my body, and I feel blessed to be able to do so in support of the brain tumor community,” Miller shared.
