“I’ve had a few brushes with death,” Homme shared. “The first significant one was when I almost drowned at 12. I was in a solo boating mishap, thrown from the vessel, and had to swim a daunting distance in stormy weather, fully dressed. It felt like miles in every direction.”
He humorously recalled being rescued by a stranger who “yanked me up by my hair and underwear,” giving him what he described as “the biggest wedgie of my life.”

Surviving that harrowing experience ignited a fire within Homme to seize the moment and pursue his passions. “The aftermath of that incident was enlightening.
