Donner’s Innovative Headless Guitar: The Hush-X live Series
After spending considerable time mastering the electric guitar, you might think you’ve seen it all. Though, Donner surprises us once again by enhancing its cutting-edge Hush series with a headless guitar that features an integrated amplifier, effects, and a detachable speaker.
Welcome to 2026, where the Hush-X Live and its premium counterpart, the Hush-X Live Pro, come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, making them truly modern instruments.
Forget about jetpacks and hoverboards; this is the real future of music!
Ultimate travel Guitars Debut at OSAKA Guitar Show
Unveiled at the OSAKA Guitar Show, these guitars are the epitome of portable design-lightweight, stylish, and headless, making them perfect for musicians on the go.
The hush-X Live Pro has garnered attention from notable artists, including the renowned Japanese guitarist MIYAVI, who contributed to the design of key features such as the neck profile, the remaining headstock, and the pickups, and also co-developing some of the onboard amp models.
As confirmed by Guitar World, the Hush-X series is not just a gimmick; it’s a serious instrument suitable for travel and beyond.
For Traditionalists, This Might Not Be Your Cup of Tea
If you’re a traditionalist, you might want to sit this one out. The Hush-X Live and Live Pro are so ahead of their time that they make classic models like the Jackson Soloist seem outdated. You might have to wait until 2126 for these to be considered “vintage.”
Detachable Speaker: A Game-Changer
The detachable speaker module is a bold innovation, even for Donner and its Hush series. It charges via USB-C and offers up to nine hours of continuous playtime.
Imagine strumming along to Enter Sandman while shopping at Target, practicing jazz chords while waiting for a table at your favorite pizzeria, or jamming to some bluegrass tunes while exploring organic milk options at Whole Foods. With this guitar, you can play anywhere, anytime, for up to nine hours!
Specifications: What sets Them Apart
While the two models share many similarities, they also have distinct features. Both guitars boast neck-through construction, a 25.5″ scale length, and Alnico V humbuckers, with the Pro model’s pickups customized to MIYAVI’s specifications. They feature bone nuts with a narrow 38mm width, while the standard model has a mahogany body and a five-piece mahogany neck reinforced with maple strips, shaped into a modern C profile.
The Pro version includes MIYAVI’s neck design with an HPL fingerboard and a 13.7″ radius, while the standard model offers either HPL or roasted maple with a flatter 15.7″ radius. The neck is made of roasted maple with maple strips, and the body is crafted from aged Canadian maple.
Amplification and Features
Now, let’s talk about the amp and speaker combo. Is it a modeling combo amp with an integrated guitar, or a guitar with a built-in combo? The choice is yours.
Both models feature five watts of power, with the standard offering five onboard amp and cabinet simulations, while the Pro model boasts seven. They even include tap tempo and a noise gate-an remarkable addition!
