Celebrating a Legend: Jack Bruce’s Gibson EB-1 to Shine at Gibson Garage’s anniversary
In a thrilling tribute to rock history, the Gibson EB-1 bass guitar famously wielded by Jack bruce during Cream’s monumental reunion concerts in 2005 will be showcased at the Gibson garage in London. This display marks the first anniversary of the iconic venue.
Exciting Events Planned for Anniversary Week
From February 18 to 24, a series of special in-store events will take place, featuring exclusive product launches and unique experiences for fans and music lovers alike.
A Glimpse of Rock History
Beginning february 20, Bruce’s cherished 1950s Cherry Red violin model EB-1 will be on display for a month. This instrument holds the distinction of being Gibson’s inaugural electric bass, and it was also utilized in BMM, Bruce’s power trio alongside Cream drummer Ginger Baker and blues guitar icon Gary Moore.
The Cream Reunion: A Historic Performance
However, it is the Cream reunion shows at the Royal Albert Hall that solidified the bass’s legendary status. These four sold-out nights are hailed by gibson as “one of the most significant rock reunion performances ever.” The concerts were a remarkable celebration of music, and Bruce reflected on the experience in an interview with Bass Player magazine.
“The Royal Albert Hall was simply breathtaking,” Bruce recalled. “I always feel a bit anxious before performing, but this particular event was overwhelming. eric nudged me to take the lead, but my legs felt like jelly!”

Join the Celebration: ‘Jam For Jack’
The unveiling of the EB-1 will coincide with a special event titled ‘Jam For Jack’ on February 20, featuring live performances from renowned artists such as Mark King, Phil Manzanera, and Gary Husband, among others.
Supporting Future Musicians
This display is part of a larger initiative to launch the Jack Bruce Foundation,aimed at providing music education opportunities for young individuals facing challenges. Tickets for the event are available through Gibson, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation. additionally, a unique bass guitar will be auctioned off during the festivities.
