Death By Audio x Rainger FX Amp Crash

When Oliver Ackermann and David Rainger collaborate on a pedal, prepare for something exceptional - and the Death By Audio x Rainger FX Amp Crash certainly delivers.
This innovative device is not just a pedal; it combines reverb, echo, and chorus into a single unit. It also functions as a guitar amplifier and a microphone, featuring a 2-inch internal speaker and an eight-ohm output for connecting to a speaker cabinet. But why include a microphone and speaker?
This unique setup allows you to blend the direct signal from the amplifier with the microphone signal, resulting in a new kind of fuzz-drive that is harmonically rich with unusual overtones and feedback. It’s truly a groundbreaking pedal. With an internal trim pot and a dual-mode footswitch, the possibilities are endless.

“Unlike conventional distortion or amp simulation pedals, Amp Crash generates sound physically, not just electronically,” the description states.”The interaction between the amplifier, speaker, and microphone creates harmonics, feedback, compression, and textures that only arise from the physical movement of air within the pedal.”
The way you utilize this pedal is entirely up to you. It can serve as a practice amplifier, an unconventional recording tool, or even a device to surprise your bandmates.
Rainger proposed the idea of integrating a microphone into the pedal, but it was Ackermann who took the concept to the next level.
“David from Rainger is someone I always connect with at events. His effects are wonderfully bizarre,” Ackermann shares. “When he mentioned he was coming to New York for a collaboration,it felt like a dream. Just like cities around the globe, Rainger FX is like a sister company to death By Audio: eccentric, wild, and completely extreme. Collaborating on this project pushed us to create something truly radical, and we took it even further.”
this innovative pedal is priced at $395 and is available now. Check out Death By Audio for more details.

Jam Pedals’ Tiny Amp Destroyer: A Game Changer
Jam Pedals consistently delivers innovative products, and the Tiny Amp Destroyer, a signature pedal for Stu Mackenzie of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, is no exception. This pedal is truly unique and special.
Fans of the Gizzverse will recognize the importance of this pedal. Mackenzie’s signature sound on recordings is largely attributed to a collection of battered, inexpensive solid-state practice amps he sourced from Cash Convertors. This is the secret behind the warm, gritty drive featured on tracks like Flight b741.
“Some of the tones are crispy and hot, reminiscent of the distortion found on the early Black Sabbath records,” Mackenzie explained to total Guitar in 2024. “While they didn’t use tiny amps, that was the essence of the sound. It’s distinct from using a fuzz pedal. Rolling back the volume on your guitar allows for a clean-up that pedals can’t replicate.”
The Tiny Amp destroyer captures those sounds and more. It features two footswitchable gain stages and a boost section modeled after the Jam Rooster, a Rangemaster-style treble booster. We’re eager to add this to our pedalboard!
While a price tag of $399 for a pedal that emulates a $30 amp might seem absurd, this versatile drive/distortion/preamp/miracle box offers much more than meets the eye.
