Celebrating 40 Years of Innovation
this launch coincides with PRS’s year-long celebration of its 40th anniversary, showcasing stunning veneers like Poplar Burl, Burled Ash, adn Laurel Burl across four iconic models: the Custom 24-08, Custom 24, DGT, and McCarty 594.

Bringing Exotic Aesthetics to the SE Line
While PRS has previously adorned its high-end models with exclusive exotic tops, this new collection brings those striking visuals to the SE series, creating a quartet of guitars that truly celebrate the brand’s milestone anniversary.
All models are priced just under $1,000, a competitive price point considering the SE’s heritage and the breathtaking nature of the exotic woods used.
Curated Selection of Exotic Woods
According to PRS COO Jack higginbotham, the woods were meticulously chosen during a recent visit to the PT CORT factory, where the SE models are produced, leading to the finding of some captivating veneers.
Exclusive Limited Editions
The SE Custom 24-08 features a Poplar Burl veneer and is available in two finishes: Charcoal Cherry Midnight Burst and Lake Blue Midnight Burst, with only 2,500 units being produced.
The SE Custom 24 showcases a Burled Ash veneer in Lake Blue and Natural finishes, limited to just 1,000 pieces.
For the SE DGT, Laurel Burl is the chosen veneer, available exclusively in mccarty Sunburst, with 1,000 units available. The SE McCarty 594, also featuring Laurel Burl, will be the most exclusive model, with only 500 units produced, available in Vintage Sunburst.
Consistent Quality Across the Board
All models maintain the same specifications, including rosewood fingerboards, PRS pickups, versatile switching options, and patented PRS tremolo systems.

Higginbotham emphasizes the extraordinary team at PT CORT, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of guitar design. “Our visits frequently enough inspire new ideas. When I saw their collection of veneers, I knew we could create truly special guitars that would captivate audiences,” he states.
Upgraded Features for the Swamp Ash special
In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, the SE Swamp Ash Special has received a important electronics upgrade, replacing the previous three-way switch with a five-way option, allowing for a broader range of pickup combinations.
