Gretsch is embarking on an exciting new journey with the Electromatic Premier Jet, introducing a premium iteration of this iconic guitar.
The Premier Jet enhances the foundation laid by the Electromatic Jet, marking what Gretsch describes as its “boldest evolution yet.” It features the same single-cutaway, chambered mahogany body but adds a stunning maple top. The C-profile Performance set neck is also crafted from mahogany and topped with a 22-fret bound fingerboard, replacing rosewood with ebony for a more luxurious feel.

The neck is designed for modern players, featuring a compound radius of 10″ to 14″-a departure from the standard 12″ radius of the Electromatic-along with Pearloid neo-classic thumbnail inlays and Luminlay side dots.Additionally, it boasts a glossy finish and a graph Tech NuBone nut for enhanced performance.
In terms of hardware, the Premier Jet includes a lockdown locking bridge, die-cast sealed locking tuners, and Sphera Twin Six nickel-finished humbuckers, all complemented by versatile controls.
Key features include a Master Volume with Treble-Bleed for clarity at any volume level, and push/pull auxiliary switching to activate the Lumen Filter, which reduces low-end frequencies for a “tighter, snappier response.” This results in percussive high-gain tones and crystal-clear cleans, offering a touch of single-coil character.
Upgraded from the standard Electromatic’s PureVolt pickups, the two Sphera humbuckers are designed to be “exceptionally expressive and irresistibly powerful.”
Each pickup features 12 adjustable pole pieces, providing “unrestrained flexibility” to a player’s tonal options. The neck pickup utilizes Alnico VI magnets paired with clear poly-sol-coated wire, while the bridge pickup is specially calibrated with plain wiring, designed to deliver both ”brilliance and brute force.” Additionally, both pickups are vacuum-wax-potted to reduce noise and interference.
The Premier Jet is priced at $799 and comes in four stunning finishes: Vintage Pearl,Robusto Burst (brown),Onyx Storm (black),and Clairvoyant (purple).While it represents a more premium offering within the Gretsch Electromatic line, it remains comfortably under the $1,000 threshold.
