A Note from Paul:

“The‍ microphone setup was meticulously arranged, with overheads and room mics positioned to align with the center of the⁤ snare‌ drum, ensuring phase coherence in stereo⁤ pairs. The AEA R88 MK2 mics, being stereo,⁢ posed no phase issues, while the front center room mic and center overhead were aligned for ⁤a consistent ⁤stereo image. Phase correction was applied to the kick ⁤and snare mics as needed. Hi-pass filters were utilized ⁣on the hi-hat, ride, and overhead mics. The Electrovoice PL80 mics ⁣on⁢ the snare provide a flat portrayal of the drum sound. our goal was to capture an authentic representation of the drums in the live room, with the studio acoustics treated to enhance neutrality.”
