The scarf joint also showcases this contrast, although it may appear somewhat jarring, as if Cort intended to highlight it.

Out of the gig bag, the action on this Earth GO model is excessively high-2.70mm clearance from the low E string and 2mm from the high E string. This can feel cumbersome,especially on a shorter scale guitar,making it more tough for those transitioning from longer scale guitars.Beginners,in particular,might struggle with the high action,which is a disappointing hurdle right from the start,making the Cort Mini less user-friendly then it should be.
There are two potential solutions to this issue-one simpler than the other. The easiest fix is to switch to lighter gauge strings (the supplied gauge isn’t specified, but it appears to be a gauge 12 set). However, this will only reduce tension and may not fully address the problem. The second method involves removing the strings,carefully sanding down the bottom of the saddle,and then re-stringing to test again. This process may be best left to a technician for some players, adding to the overall cost.Personally, I believe acoustics should not leave the factory with such high action, which limits their appeal. I hope this is an isolated incident, as I haven’t encountered this issue with Cort guitars previously.
It’s unfortunate because, aside from the action issue, the neck feels comfortable, although the shorter scale isn’t as appealing as my 23.5″ Taylor GS Mini. adult players may find it challenging, while children will likely have an easier time.
The Earth GO rests comfortably on the lap, and as I tune down a semitone to ease the string tension and improve playability, it feels more like a sophisticated travel guitar rather than a child’s toy.

At higher settings, the Echo repeats can sound overly synthetic and plastic-like.
While the Echo feature is satisfactory, it doesn’t deliver the expansive soundscapes one might hope for. Compared to other acoustic guitars equipped with similar effects, the Earth GO’s smaller body size limits its resonance. Though, when paired with the atmospheric qualities of Tremolo, the Echo remains my go-to effect for creating inspiring soundscapes.
The Echo delay can become too artificial and plastic-like at elevated levels, and finding the right balance is crucial; too high, and it becomes distracting, too low, and it fades into the background. When amplified through a PA system, the effects become much clearer, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the earth GO’s piezo pickup enhanced the guitar’s warm low-end, resulting in a satisfying live sound.
While the Chorus, octaver, and Phaser effects shine when used subtly and add charm to my unplugged performances, I found the Distortion effect either induced excessive feedback or was nearly imperceptible. Similarly, the Boost feature was difficult to discern, making these two effects feel somewhat needless.
