PRS Guitars Launches Ed Sheeran’s New Baritone: A Versatile Instrument for All Genres
PRS Guitars has unveiled its latest collaboration with Ed sheeran, introducing the SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I piezo Baritone guitar. This marks the second baritone model designed in partnership with the acclaimed artist.
Earlier this year, the Maryland-based guitar manufacturer released the limited-edition SE cosmic splash, featuring a 27.7″ scale length, which was restricted to just 1,000 units.In contrast,the new baritone model is set to be more widely accessible to musicians everywhere.
Fresh Colors and Features
While the new baritone shares manny characteristics with its cosmic predecessor, it now comes in a variety of vibrant “catalog colorways,” including Kaleidoscope, Pink Ombre, and Orange Tiger smokeburst, appealing to a broader range of aesthetic preferences.
The guitar boasts a hollow body crafted from a maple top and mahogany back,enhanced with a center block that amplifies resonance. It is indeed equipped with PRS 85/15 ’S’ pickups and a PRS/LR Baggs piezo system, providing musicians with extensive tonal options. Players can blend the pickups or use them independently for diverse soundscapes.
Designed for All Genres
Returning to the fretboard are PRS’s signature bird inlays, a nod to Sheeran’s recent Stereo album series. Sheeran himself has expressed enthusiasm for the instrument, stating, “Metal guitarists will absolutely shred on this; jazz guitarists will love this, and it will fit into so many great scenarios.”
He further emphasizes, “For all the guitar enthusiasts who see me as primarily an acoustic player, don’t be misled by the person behind the guitar. This instrument is exceptional and will complement many guitarists’ collections.”

After commemorating its 40th anniversary last year, PRS is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of its popular SE Series in 2026, which includes the highly acclaimed SE NF 53 from last year.
