Ibanez Unveils Exciting New Additions to the AZ Series Electric Guitars
ibanez is set to captivate guitar enthusiasts with it’s latest expansion of the AZ Series, declaring that “there’s something for every player.” This new collection showcases a variety of models, including premium options, heavy-duty performers, and an HSS Strat-inspired design.
Versatile Designs for Every Genre
the AZ series is built on the principle of extreme adaptability, offering instruments that cater to a wide range of musical styles-from soulful blues to aggressive metal. This latest release introduces several firsts for the AZ lineup,enhancing its appeal to diverse players.
New Premium Models and Features
Among the new offerings are three Premium models, including a seven-string variant.Additionally, the Iron Label series debuts its first hardtail guitar, while the Standard models present two exciting new finishes.
The Premium models are crafted from American basswood,featuring AZ Oval C-profile roasted maple necks and rosewood fingerboards embellished with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and 24 stainless steel frets. The AZ41P1PB, finished in Obvious Gray Burst, and the AZ41P1EW, showcasing a natural Gray Burst, both boast unique tops made from poplar burl and English walnut, respectively.The Cosmic Blue seven-string AZ41P1EW is topped with quilted maple.
All three Premium models are equipped with Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, with the seven-string diverging from the conventional twin humbucker setup to feature an HSS configuration. Additional highlights include glow-in-the-dark side dots, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, and Gotoh T1502 tremolos with whammy bars. The six-string models are priced at $1,599, while the seven-string is available for $1,699.
Iron Label: A New Era for Metal
The Iron Label series introduces a single new model, designed with a sleek all-black aesthetic that emphasizes its heavy metal capabilities.This guitar features an American basswood body, paired with an AZ Oval C-profile roasted maple neck and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with stainless steel frets.
Notably, this model marks the introduction of a hardtail bridge in the Iron Label range, featuring an Ibanez F106 bridge that allows for adjustable string height.The guitar is powered by DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups, ensuring a powerful tonal output, and includes Gotoh locking tuners and a Graph Tech nut, all for a competitive price of $1,099.
Standard Models: Affordable Excellence
The AZ Standard line welcomes vibrant new finishes, including Mint Green and Metallic Light Blue, alongside classic black options. The AZ22S2MGR, featuring an HSS configuration, and the AZ24S2MLB, equipped with twin humbuckers, both share an alder body, AZ roasted maple neck, and jatoba fingerboard, with 22 frets for the HSS model and 24 for the HH model. Despite thier affordability, these guitars come with stainless steel frets.
These models are completed with T106 bridges, proprietary locking tuners, and a generous neck joint for enhanced upper fret access. The AZ22S2 is fitted with Ibanez Classic Custom pickups for a traditional sound, while the AZ24S2 features Ibanez Modern Custom humbuckers. Each model is priced at an accessible $549.
Innovative Switching System
All three lines incorporate Ibanez’s dyna-MIX switching system, which replaces the traditional push/pull method for coil-splitting with a dedicated mini switch. The seven-string model even allows players to emulate humbucker tones from the single coils, adding to its versatility.
