The pedal has a low profile, measuring just 1.73″ (44mm) in height. The footswitch is prominent and operates quietly,avoiding the loud click of older models.It strikes a balance between ease of use and tactile feedback, making it accessible from various angles.
On the top of the pedal, you’ll find two 1/4-inch jacks, along wiht the 9V DC power input clearly labeled in bold white text. This clarity continues on the right side, where you’ll find the bypass switch, tuning mode switch, and the USB-C port. The bypass switch operates smoothly, while the circular mode button provides a satisfying click when engaged.

After connecting the Fender Strobo-Sonic to a pedalboard filled with budget pedals, the display illuminated softly, showing the reference pitch before fading to black.Plugging in a Baum Core verve electric guitar, I activated the footswitch and was greeted with the pedal in dual strobe-and-needle mode.
The strobe display consists of LED blocks that shift left or right based on the string’s pitch. If they drift left, the note is flat; if they move right, it’s sharp. The objective is to stop the blocks, indicating perfect tuning. Strobe tuning offers greater accuracy than a needle tuner, as it overlays the precise pitch of your string, allowing for detection of even minor discrepancies.
Above and below the moving blocks is the familiar needle tuner, which turns blue when flat or sharp and green when in tune. However, needle tuners involve some guesswork, as they continuously sample your note and smooth the readings for clarity.
