In a recent interview with guitarist, renowned guitarist Eric Johnson shared intriguing details about his vintage gear-filled live setup, revealing the crucial factor he considers when selecting a guitar.
While Johnson is frequently seen wielding a Fender Stratocaster, he acknowledges that vintage models aren’t always the best choice. Importantly, he emphasizes that the search for the perfect guitar transcends brand and model.
“Some guitars resist your playing, while others seem to harmonize with you,” he explains, shedding light on why certain instruments resonate with him more than others.
“I believe it’s all about the resonance of the wood-how well it complements your picking style. You can truly feel it when you play,” he elaborates.
