Introducing the LsL Instruments Saticoy 24
This week marked a pivotal moment for the S-style guitar, a beloved design that faced challenges due to FenderS recent legal actions aimed at protecting the Stratocaster’s copyright.
Among the first companies to receive a cease-and-desist notice was LsL Instruments, which has now launched its first model as the legal disputes began. The Saticoy 24 is a reimagined 24-fret version of the classic double-cut design, hinting at the future of S-style guitars.
The modifications are both subtle and impactful; with elongated horns,a redesigned pickguard,a flatter top,and enhanced contouring on the back and lower cutaway,this guitar presents a fresh take on a classic.
Take a look at the materials used; the camphor burl is stunning (though a natural back with an off-white finish would be a dream). the carved neck heel indicates a focus on high-performance design. Truly notable.

MXR Flanger/Doubler: A New Pedal sensation
MXR has transformed the M-126 rack unit into a compact pedal, instantly evoking thoughts of Dimebag Darrell, who frequently utilized this unit during his time with Pantera. This was the secret ingredient that added depth to Dimebag’s signature sound, providing the necessary heft for a single-guitar metal ensemble.
Fans of the late guitar legend should consider this pedal a must-have. Though, the Flanger/Doubler offers a plethora of other applications.
With an all-analog, BBD-driven circuit, it delivers a range of flanger effects from lush and harmonically rich to hollow and metallic. The control layout mirrors that of the original rack unit, featuring an Invert mode to reverse the polarity of the wet signal. it can serve as a modulation tool, a texture enhancer, a tone thickener, or even a slapback delay.
Additionally, it includes a Mix knob, a CV expression pedal input, and a line level switch to accommodate hot inputs from keyboards and synthesizers.

Joe Bonamassa and Martin Guitars: A Vintage Collaboration
After their accomplished partnership on a $19,999 replica of his “museum-grade” 1941 000-45 in 2024, Joe Bonamassa and Martin Guitars have joined forces once more to unveil another vintage-inspired masterpiece. This time, they’ve also introduced a more budget-friendly option from the Road series.
The newly launched 00-18 draws inspiration from a 1937 pre-war model in Bonamassa’s collection, meticulously replicating the intricate details of the original’s dark “shade-top” finish.
Featuring mahogany for the back and sides,a spruce top,and all the authentic period details,including Golden Era scalloped X-bracing and faux tortoiseshell binding,this guitar is a true homage to its predecessors. Just place a quality microphone in front of it, and it’s bound to shine in any recording session.
The 00-10E model is equipped with Martin’s E-1 electronics, which proved invaluable when Bonamassa was testing these guitars. Faced with a gig and no acoustic-electric guitar available, he decided to use the Martin.
“The electronics sounded fantastic,” he recalls. ”During my first test, I had a performance in New York with Slash, and we were doing an acoustic opener. I didn’t have an acoustic guitar with a pickup at home, but Martin had just sent over these two. I thought,’Oh cool,it has a pickup,’ and plugged it in.I was thrilled!”
The Mexican-manufactured 00-10E replaces mahogany with sapele but maintains an all-solid construction and captures the vintage aesthetic beautifully. It retails for $1,299,while the 00-18 is priced at $3,999.
