Rocking the Future: the School of Rock AllStars Tour Showcases Young Talent
Despite the claims from some that “rock is dead,” the vibrant energy of 80,000 students enrolled in the School of Rock program tells a different story. This new generation of musicians is not only keeping rock alive but also ensuring its future is in capable hands.

Originating in philadelphia, School of Rock has expanded globally, boasting over 650 locations worldwide. This innovative music education platform goes beyond teaching instruments like guitar,bass,and drums; it empowers young musicians too hone their skills,unleash their creativity,and equip themselves with essential life tools.
The AllStars Tour: A Showcase of Talent
This month, School of Rock launched its “All Stars Tour,” a nationwide series of 34 performances across 32 cities, spotlighting the most exceptional young musicians from the program.
Elite Musicianship and Community Spirit
Achieving a spot in an All Star band is no small feat, with less than 1% of students reaching this pinnacle. The 2026 class comprises 162 talented individuals from 99 locations, including the United States, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Canada, and Australia.
Divided into six teams, these young musicians embarked on a 10-day tour, performing at iconic venues such as Trees in Dallas, Sony Hall in New York, and 3Ten at ACL Live in austin.
Building Bonds Beyond Music
Perhaps the most touching aspect of the All Stars Tour is the profound sense of community it fosters. We spoke with three standout performers to gain insight into what School of Rock means to them.
Logan Clyde, a 15-year-old guitarist, recalls, “I watched the documentary when it first came out, and people said, ‘On day one, we’re strangers; by day ten, we’re family.’ I thought it was just marketing, but the connection was genuine. Everyone welcomed me on day one, making it easy and stress-free as a newcomer.”
“On the last day, everyone was crying, hugging, and reminiscing about our remarkable 10-day journey,” he adds.
Personal Growth through Music
Chloe Aaronson, 17, shares her experience: “School of Rock has provided me with a community that encourages me to step outside my comfort zone. Embracing my mistakes on stage has improved my performance and made it more enjoyable for the audience.”
For Alex Doner, who has been part of the program since he was seven, School of Rock has been a constant in his life. “It’s about community. These are my friends, and we all share a passion for music,” he explains.
Challenging Musical Selections
The All Stars Tour features elite musicians tackling a range of songs, from classic rock anthems to more complex pieces. Clyde notes, “Iron Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name was particularly challenging. While it’s not the hardest musically, we choreographed the entire performance to capture the essence of Iron Maiden’s live shows.”
Logan comes from a musical lineage; his grandfather played bass for Van Morrison in his youth. He has already performed the national anthem solo for 26,000 fans at a professional soccer match, crediting preparation as key to overcoming nerves.
Overcoming Challenges
Chloe faced her own hurdles with the Mars Volta classic L’Via L’viaquez, but found joy in the challenge. “Playing that on stage was exhilarating!” she exclaims. Known as ‘Chlo Dart’ after her favorite bassist,she is contemplating a future in music,tho she may also pursue biomedical engineering.
“Music has brought me immense joy, and even if I don’t pursue it as a career, it will always be a part of my life,” she reflects.
Learning on the fly
For Alex, the Avenged Sevenfold hit Beast and the Harlot posed a notable challenge, but he has tackled even tougher pieces in his career. He began playing guitar at four, inspired by watching his father. Now,as a seasoned student,he helps newcomers navigate their musical journeys.
alex recalls being tasked with learning Nuno bettencourt’s solo from Get The Funk Out with just a day’s notice. “Mastering those tapping licks was tough, but it was a valuable learning experience,” he shares.

For these students, School of Rock is more than just a music program; it’s a nurturing surroundings for confidence, creativity, and lasting friendships. Clyde emphasizes, “For anyone aspiring to be a musician or improve their skills, School of Rock is the ideal place. You grow as a musician while forming genuine connections and friendships.”
