A new chapter for Epiphone acoustics has begun. Following the prosperous launch of the Inspired by Gibson Custom series last year, Epiphone has introduced a more budget-friendly Inspired by Gibson collection. This lineup features all-solid wood construction, Fishman electronics, and rosewood fingerboards on models like the Hummingbird, J-45, and L-00.

While the Dual Rectifier frequently enough steals the spotlight, it’s time to recognize the Triple Rectifier for its critically important impact on the high-gain amp scene of the 1990s. Mesa/Boogie acknowledges its legacy, and to celebrate, thay’ve reissued it in a sleek black finish.
“In the ’90s, these premium black models were a staple on stages with some of rock’s biggest names,” says Doug West from Mesa/Boogie. “Finding one in the used market often means heavy wear from years of touring, so this is a rare opportunity to own a brand-new version in pristine condition.”

These exclusive models will feature a striking new finish, but they won’t be available until 2026.

The basic concept behind pickup design is straightforward: pickups that are potted with wax are less prone to microphonic feedback. This process fills and seals internal gaps, stabilizing coil windings and protecting them from vibrations and damage, wich results in a more consistent tone, especially at higher gain and volume levels.
Conversely, unpotted pickups lack this protection, but many players prefer them for their vibrant, airy sound and enhanced touch sensitivity reminiscent of vintage tones. Typically, those who use unpotted pickups do not push them to the gain levels that would cause feedback, even tho there are exceptions.
In a groundbreaking move, Ruokangas has introduced non-potted P-90 pickups that resist microphonic squeal thanks to their innovative Flux-Coil stabilization technology. This means you can enjoy the tonal advantages of unpotted pickups while being able to drive them harder without encountering unwanted noise. Their aesthetic appeal is also noteworthy.
