Sonor describes the Tineo Snare Drum as: “The standout feature of this Artist Snare Drum is its considerable 27-ply (28mm thick) beechwood shell. It delivers a deep, dry sound with a rich bottom end while maintaining clarity, making it ideal for genres like funk, fusion, jungle, or electronic music.”

Utilized 16x Rupert Neve Designs 5052 microphone preamps, with outputs connected to Avid HD analog-to-digital converters linked to an Avid HDX card. The session was recorded using Pro Tools Ultimate on an Apple Mac Pro 2019 16-core system.
Basic EQ: The initial EQ settings were applied using the Neve 5052 mic preamps, with no post-recording EQ or processing added.
“The microphone placements were carefully measured to ensure phase alignment, particularly with the overheads and room mics centered on the snare drum.The AEA R88 MK2 mics, being stereo, maintained phase integrity, while adjustments were made to the kick and snare mics to correct any phase discrepancies. Hi-pass filters were selectively applied to the hi-hat, ride mic, and overheads. The studio’s acoustics were optimized for a neutral sound, accurately capturing the essence of the drums and cymbals.”
