Henry James shares that Cobb played a pivotal role in shaping their musical direction, introducing them to classic albums from the ’70s, including works by Free and The Faces. As a self-proclaimed “’70s rock nerd,” James thrives on the rich history of music from that era, often recalling the year of release and the musicians involved.
“Our diverse influences are a meaningful asset,” he explains. “We all share our favourite albums, which span various genres, enriching our sound.” His personal playlist predominantly features rock, R&B, jazz, funk, and country from the ’60s and ’70s, showcasing his deep recognition for that musical period.
A GuitaristS Passion
James, a dedicated guitarist, grew up immersed in the pages of Guitar World, which shaped his discerning taste. His admiration for iconic guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, and Eddie Van halen is evident in his playing style. “I’m passionate about pedals, pickups, and amplifiers,” he admits, ”but I always prioritize the music, just like my favorite players did.”

James believes this is reflected in their music. “There’s a certain polished quality to our sound,” he notes. “We have immense respect for session musicians and the legendary Wrecking Crew, who contributed to countless iconic L.A. records. This influence is woven into our DNA, along with the California country sound from artists like The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Eagles.”
Additionally,the band draws inspiration from the Bakersfield country scene and the hard rock legacy of Van Halen,which they believe exemplifies California’s musical identity.
