Since the thrilling announcement last December that legendary guitarists Joe Satriani and Steve Vai would be joining forces to create a band for the vrey first time, fans have been eagerly speculating about the lineup. Today, that mystery has been unveiled with great enthusiasm.

It has been confirmed that the talented Pete Thorn will take on the role of rhythm guitarist, forming an unusual ensemble alongside seasoned bassist Marco Mendoza and renowned drummer Kenny Aronoff. Aronoff, who has collaborated with Satriani for over ten years on solo projects and G3 tours, adds a wealth of experiance to the group.

Both Vai and Satriani have expressed their delight in welcoming thorn to the band. “Pete’s musicianship is incredibly solid, and he has a remarkable tone,” said Vai. “His rhythm work is exceptionally tight and in tune, which is a rare quality, and his intonation is simply stunning. I’d wake up and head to math class, but now it’s real!”

Upcoming Tour and Setlist Speculations
Currently, only European tour dates have been announced, set to kick off in mid-June. However, it’s likely that this powerhouse band will eventually grace stages across North America as well.
The specifics of their setlist remain under wraps, but fans can expect to hear The Sea of Emotion, Pt. 1, the first-ever collaborative track from Vai and Satriani, which was released last March.Another collaboration is slated for release just before the tour begins, with the possibility of more new music to follow.
In a conversation with Guitar World after announcing their joint Satch/Vai tour last year, Satriani revealed, “We have three pieces that are nearly complete. Our schedules are hectic, but we’re determined to make it happen.”
